Izzy’s Photoshoot in her Mum’s Chinese Wedding Dress
We headed to China Town, London to take some colourful, dynamic, full-of-life photos.
Izzy sent me a photo of her mums beautiful hand-made Cheongsam saying she wanted to do a photoshoot in it… best believe it was a YES from me. What an honour to shoot and celebrate such a special piece, worn by the queen of styling herself. Speaking of, Izzy styled it to be more ‘her’, which involves pops of (more) colour and fun.
We headed to China Town in search of ‘ugly’ and messy backdrops to juxtapose the beauty of the dress. Incase it wasnt obvious yet, Izzy loves anything full of colour and life so this location hunting in China town was wuite easy!
We found one particular shop front that had a trolly full of white cabbages and the lovely workers unloading into the shop said it was okay for us to pose with a cabbage (one of them actually suggested two!).
We then got the go-ahead to pose on the crates that were being piled up next to us. Theyb happened to be the exact same blue and Izzys tights, so this came together absolutely perfectly!
After a quick wander around the corner, already buzzing from getting some awesome shots, we found two more really fun spots. One, some evergreens in pots infront of a bright red restaurant front (the colours popping, once again) and Two, some stocked up windows full of different coloured packaging that created a busy but brilliant backdrop.
I bloomin’ love just showing up to places on photoshoots and seeing what we can find together. Its such a cool way to get an insight into the way the other person thinks but also such a great way to find accidental gems like these.
